Advancing Civil Liberties in Alberta.

The Rocky Mountain Civil Liberties Association is an Alberta organization based in Calgary founded to  promote respect for and observance of fundamental human rights and civil liberties. Our work aims to defend and ensure the protection of individual rights, freedoms and liberties.

• Gillian Steward, Vice President. Gillian is a Calgary author and journalist.  She was the managing editor at The Calgary Herald from 1987 to 1990 and wrote a syndicated column for the Southam newspapers from 1990-1992. She currently writes a regular column for the Toronto Star and teaches journalism at Mount Royal University in Calgary.
  
• Kelly Ernst, Secretary/Treasurer. Kelly holds a Ph.D. in educational psychology from the University of Calgary, and is currently Senior Program Director at the Sheldon Chumir Foundation for Ethics in Leadership.He is a long-time advocate, speaking and writing about a variety of civil liberty issues. He currently holds a number of executive board positions and has consulted for a variety of organizations on various topics related to strategic leadership and organizational development.
